Over 73 Million Square Meters Subdivided Through 2022

The Real Estate Unit Subdivision Program recorded an increase in the number of subdivided real estate units during the fourth quarter of 2022, with the number of units rising by more than 30% compared to the same period in 2021. During this period, the program subdivided an area totaling 5.7 million square meters.  In a press statement issued today, the program highlighted a steady increase in subdivision requests, with the total number of requests received since its establishment exceeding 34,000. The total number of subdivided real estate units surpassed 230,000, and the overall subdivided area since the program’s inception has exceeded 73 million square meters.  The program emphasized that its services have contributed to offering diverse real estate options for prospective property owners by enabling developers to subdivide properties and real estate complexes into various types of units. This has increased the supply of residential and mixed-use properties, making them more readily accessible to beneficiaries.  The program further indicated its ongoing efforts to enhance and develop the customer experience by improving and automating operational processes in coordination with multiple government entities. This includes integration with the Ministry of Justice to facilitate the issuance of title deeds after subdivision operations are completed, as well as integration with the Balady Platform to verify construction permit data necessary for completing subdivision operations. Additionally, the program provides an updated list of engineering offices accredited by the program to simplify the process for real estate developers in executing subdivision requests through the electronic platform.  The program has also introduced comprehensive improvements to the Premium Service, which significantly reduces the time required for engineering offices to enter subdivision request data—cutting it by 70% through automated and specialized processing. Moreover, technical integration with the Balady Platform for verifying construction permits of subdivision requests has further streamlined the submission process, ensuring high-quality data accuracy on the Real Estate Unit Subdivision Platform. The program reported that over 600 building permits have been successfully verified through this integration.
